NYC and "do not pass go"

Things started off wonderfully on our short (but huge) trip to nyc/albany. There were already a few upset people before we got to the border. Sometimes i should think harder about what i am going to say.

i'm in love with songbird.

songbird is awesome. seriously. if you don't know already, it's an open source media player built on the mozilla xul engine. it already has a plethora of extensions written for it, and development on the project is progressing rapidly.

i'm attaching a screenshot of me having a bit of fun with it on my laptop.. i'll definitely be blogging more about this later.

migrating my blog.

if you're wondering why i seem to be massively lacking in content on this blog, it's because i have yet to migrate over my posts from outsidemymind. they should be online later today.

update: all done. :)

third tuesday in saint john.

last night i attended third tuesday in saint john, a propelsj-sponsored event that focused mainly on blogging and microblogging via tools like wordpress and twitter (respectively.) turned out to be well worth the drive, as i met up with chris nadeau of yourteamonline.ca, david alston of radian6, and two sharepoint developers that were actually a lot of fun to talk to.

admittedly, i was semi-ashamed to not already have a twitter account, so i made sure that i registered last night. my new username is doug_estey, so if you want to follow along you can do so.

Tim Horton's rocks my world!

I'm sure a lot of people have already heard about the little timbit problem they had in Ontario this week. I just think it's a little too funny to miss out on commenting about this.

The story goes something like this (according to AOL news):
A Tim Hortons cashier in London, Ont., has been rehired after losing her job for giving a free Timbit to a customer with a fussy child.
