adobe has answered the long-standing cries of 64-bit linux users abroad by releasing a build of its new flash player 10 for linux.
some distributions, such as arch linux, have already made the package available.

i have android up and running on my htc touch (vogue/cdma) from bell mobility thanks to this fine man's work. his port of android's 1.0 sdk is still incomplete but very much usable at this point; calling, data, sms, sd card support, and input all work reasonably well.
martin has been working day in and day out on this project, releasing new builds several times a week and rapidly correcting bugs and other issues people have been having. we in the vogue community are very lucky to have him on our side. :)
It has recently been apparent to me that gentoo is falling apart. I've known this for the last three years and just tucked it away because I was an advanced enough user to make things work just the way I thought they should. Now it seems I'd have to completely dismantle and repair portage to get anything to even compile. I've put together a bunch of things I think are incredibly cruddy.
last night i convinced brian via text message that i ate all of his cake. he was out at the bars at the time and got pretty upset.
brian: i might not come home tonight dude
me: no worries bro. i ate your whole cake.
b: fuck you you better be joking or there better be another cake waiting for me bitch
m: i'm not joking and there is no auxiliary cake.
m: oh and can you do my dishes when you get back? thanks.
b: fack
b: your a cock suck my queer dick
a bunch of my friends and i decided to hit up summersonic in halifax, featuring bands such as city and colour, wintersleep, the weakerthans, and stars (among many more.) bands were scheduled for both saturday and sunday from 4-11pm. the entire weekend was a blast, save for a few minor mishaps (i.e. not being allowed in to the venue because of my camera gear) that were quickly remedied (apparently matt is allowed to bring in as much camera gear as he wants, even if it's mine.)
the concert was fantastic, but it really shined when stars took the stage. i think that if you ask anyone who was standing in the pouring rain singing along, they would tell you the same thing: stars completely stole the show. they were incredible. luckily, i was able to fire off a few shots before the rain started to come down in sheets.
if you ever get a chance to go see stars, do it. you'll thank me for it.
i had a bunch of other things to do today, but instead i sat around and decided to play with kde 4. the guys over at kdemod have made this pretty easy for arch linux users; after adding their custom repositories you can download and install the latest and greatest kde 4 via one command. they've actually been up to this for a while, but the last time i checked they didn't have up-to-date x86_64 packages, and, well, now they do.
this is what i'm talking about. review is to follow.
update: cleaned up formatting and updated push sync information.
i recently acquired an htc touch through bell mobility. see, it's not enough for me to have a phone... i need to have all of my latest email (across three imap servers), appointments (sync'd with google calendar of course), contacts (also sync'd with google) and tasks accessible in my back pocket. with bell mobility's unlimited data plan, the potential was there, but as a linux user i am (as with the rest of us) left out in the cold when it comes to sync support.
so, i did things my way.
Congrats to the open-source world and mozilla devs. 8 million downloads in 23 hours. GG to crappy servers going down for the first hour. To date there has nearly been 30mil ff3 downloads.
60 came from Somalia. I figure it went something like this: "Hold on man, don't pick up the phone yet! I'm 97% done getting ff3." "Dood we are in the &#$3ing desert, what good is a browser?."
Things started off wonderfully on our short (but huge) trip to nyc/albany. There were already a few upset people before we got to the border. Sometimes i should think harder about what i am going to say.
songbird is awesome. seriously. if you don't know already, it's an open source media player built on the mozilla xul engine. it already has a plethora of extensions written for it, and development on the project is progressing rapidly.
i'm attaching a screenshot of me having a bit of fun with it on my laptop.. i'll definitely be blogging more about this later.
